Any tech-savvy members near Birmingham?

I'm interested in a 1991 850 currently for sale near B'ham.
However, I'm a good distance away and am wondering whether one of the members live near B'ham and could go take a look at the car for me?
It does not run clean according to the vendor. It sounds like an electrical fault of some sort but since I haven't heard the engine I only have his word to go on. He says the engine will run for a few minutes and then quit - the EML light comes/stays on. If somebody can go and diagnose the fault I would be very grateful, and of course pay for petrol, etc
